Textbooks and Other Materials

The textbook information on this page was provided by the instructor. Students should use this information when considering purchases from the AU Campus Store or other vendors. Students may check to determine if books are currently available for purchase online.

I have compiled an 850-page book (divided into five volumes) for use this semester. The book, entitled A Key to the Golden Door - a Guide to Family- and Employment-Based Immigration (Fourteenth Edition), should currently be available for purchase from the Washington College of Law (Room 465).

First Class Readings

In Volume 1 of the Guide, please review Chapters 1 and 2 in their entirety, as well as the topic summary in Chapter 3, before our first class on Thursday, August 25. You should bring the first and last Volumes (Volumes 1 and 5) of the Guide with you to class. Note that the syllabus provides the 8 CFR regulation citation pertaining to each visa type; however, these citations are provided simply to let you know where you can find the relevant regulations (for example, if you should ever encounter a case involving these and should need to refer to them). You are not required to read these CFR regulations.
