Description

This seminar will focus on the development of law and policy addressing women’s health. Topics will include: health care reform, Title VI protection against discrimination in health care, employment discrimination based on women's physical differences from men, reproductive rights, pregnancy discrimination, the inclusion of women in research studies at the National Institutes of Research, the breast cancer advocacy movement, disparities in women's health due to race/ethnicity/socio-economic status, the policy response to AIDS in women (particularly women of color), and other women's health issues. Class requirements are a 25 page research paper and class participation.
