Description
This course examines legal and administrative systems which affect the lives of children and young adults, particularly those who are marginalized by virtue of their socioeconomic status, such as the delinquency, child welfare, and public education systems. The class will consider the various roles lawyers play in advocating on behalf of children and families within these legal systems and in working to improve these systems, such as through individual representation, interdisciplinary collaboration, class action litigation, and legislative advocacy.
