Description

This course is designed to prepare current LLM students with an understanding of the nature of contract law in the United States. The course begins with the presumption that each student is familiar with basic concepts of contract law in their own jurisdictions. Topics covered in the course will closely model those that are delivered in a JD-level contracts course, with a special emphasis on hypotheticals and cases likely to be seen on the bar examination. In order to facilitate adequate preparation for the bar examination, the course will be delivered in the style of a JD-level course, employing extensive use of cases and the Socratic method during class discussions. Students are expected to come to class prepared each week to discuss assigned cases and readings.
