American University Washington College of Law has received top rankings for intellectual property and law school buildings in the Spring 2020 issue of PreLaw Magazine.

The magazine, published by National Jurist, gave AUWCL’s campus an A+ ranking based on building aesthetic, space, and amenities. The judges also took into consideration if the campus location “adds to its mission.”

With government agencies, international organizations, top law firms, and numerous NGOs located within a short metro ride from the AUWCL’s Washington, D.C. campus, opportunities for our students to Champion What Matters abound. Our 8.5 acre campus features five courtrooms, light-filled classrooms, and state-of-the-art technology. LEED Gold certified in 2017, the campus boasts 240,000 square feet of green space, space for 200 bikes, and energy efficient systems that reduce energy consumption by 20%.

AUWCL also received an A+ for intellectual property from PreLaw. The Program on Information Justice and Intellectual (PIJIP) was recently named 10th in the nation for IP Law in the 2021 U.S. News and World Report rankings.

AUWCL offers more than 40 courses in a wide range of intellectual property topics, an unparalleled course of study. The law school’s Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Clinic was the first of its kind in the country, and our strong network of highly accomplished alumni help us provide unparalleled experiential opportunities through externships and employment. PIJIP takes advantage of AUWCL’s Washington location to convene national and international meetings that cover the wide range of emerging and important issues in our field.
