Asha Scielzo, Director of the Health Law & Policy Program, Named President-Elect Designate for the American Health Law Association (AHLA)

Congratulations to Asha Scielzo, Director of the Health Law and Policy Program, who has been named President-Elect Designate for the American Health Law Association (AHLA). A leader in the health law academic community, Professor Scielzo is committed to innovating health law education and preparing the next generation of lawyers specializing in health law.

"It is an honor to be selected to serve in the capacity of President-Elect Designate for the American Health Law Association," said Professor Scielzo. "AHLA has been my professional home for 20+ years. I am deeply committed to advancing the mission of the association and fostering meaningful engagement and connection for the health law community."

Professor Scielzo serves as the Director of the nationally ranked Health Law and Policy Program at WCL and as an Adjunct Professor of Law. She teaches a variety of experiential and innovative courses on the topics of health care fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, governance, digital health, and health care business transactions. Professor Scielzo also leads AUWCL’s Health Care Compliance Certificate, which is nationally accredited by the Compliance Certification Board.

Professor Scielzo has also assisted several law schools with the development of health law curricula for their JD, LLM and Master of Law programs. She is deeply committed to mentoring law students and junior lawyers to support them in developing rewarding and impactful careers.
