AUWCL welcomed 50 Clinical Program alumni back to campus for a celebration of the AUWCL Clinical Program. The Elliot Milstein Award for Professional Excellence was presented to Randi Mandelbaum ’88, distinguished clinic professor of law and founding director of the Child Advocacy Clinic at Rutgers Law School.

On Jan. 31, 2020, American University Washington College of Law welcomed Judy Shepard, mother of Matthew Shepard and president of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, to campus for “Rise Against Hate” to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.
