Gearing up to graduate in less than 100 days, 3L Brianna Gaddy credits her mentors for encouraging her involvement in Moot Court Honor Society, where she serves as the executive tournament director. "Moot has given me the opportunity to recognize the ways in which the law and policy can work together to create arguments for change."

On Thursday, February 13, 2020, American University Washington College of Law officially launched its new Tech, Law, and Security Program (TLS), an initiative that seeks to tackle challenges at the intersection of law, policy, and technology.

A high level, two-day conference on “In Children’s Best Interests: Advancing a Fundamental Standard for the Treatment of Immigrant Children,” took place at American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) Feb. 13 and 14. The conference, sponsored by the AU Center for Latin American & Latino Studies, AUWCL, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), addressed the best interest standard, which has served to safeguard the well-being of children in the U.S. for over a century, regardless of immigration status.

One of the more satisfying feelings at American University Washington College of Law is when alumni come back to give to the school and to our current students. This semester, we are highlighting three alumni who are now teaching a course during Spring 2020 as an adjunct professor at AUWCL.
