Three members of the American University Washington College of Law community have been named recipients of the 21st annual Peter M. Cicchino Awards for Outstanding Advocacy in the Public Interest.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, the Women and the Law Program, the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ), and the Institute for Women’s Policy Research hosted a conversation on the global impact of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

On Friday, Oct. 2, American University Washington College of Law Health Law and Policy Program, in partnership with ChangeLab Solutions and the Saint Louis University Institute for Healing Justice and Equity, presented “Health Justice: Engaging Critical Perspectives in Health Law and Policy” – a virtual conference that addressed structural racism, poverty, and other social determinants of health.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, Washington College of Law’s Program on Law and Government and the ABA Division for Public Education presented a virtual in-depth panel discussion covering the lasting impact of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill her vacancy, and key cases the U.S. Supreme Court will address when its new term commences on Oct. 5.
