American University Washington College of Law Professor Elizabeth Keith has been appointed to serve as the 2021 Editor-in-Chief of The Second Draft, a peer-reviewed publication of the Legal Writing Institute.

Twenty-five years ago, American University Washington College of Law established the War Crime Research Office as part of its commitment to human rights and humanitarian law, with a mandate to promote accountability for atrocity crimes. For over two decades, and through a global pandemic, the WCRO continues to serve as a critical resource for tribunals and other organizations dedicated to combatting impunity for atrocity crimes across the globe.

Fernando Laguarda, faculty director of the American University Washington College of Law Program on Law and Government, is set to join the Biden-Harris Administration as the General Counsel to AmeriCorps (the Corporation for National and Community Service) on Feb. 1, 2021. 

“I hope that the listeners of ‘A Hard Look’ can come away from the episodes understanding just how much their lives are influenced by administrative law decisions,” said Sarah Knarzer, Administrative Law Review senior technology editor and main host of the publication’s podcast, "A Hard Look.”

Each spring, American University Washington College of law hosts its annual Spring Externship Fair connecting our law students with employers from over 150 organizations who are seeking students for internships and externships.
