Washington College of Law’s Dean Roger Fairfax joined more than 30 Black law deans from across the country earlier this month in signing a letter in support of the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Putin’s war against Ukraine, now in its third week, is taking a devastating toll. Professor Rebecca Hamilton co-authored a model criminal indictment, published on Just Security on Monday, charging President Vladimir Putin with the international crime of aggression.

We are proud to share that Professor Cynthia Jones has received the prestigious Raeder-Taslitz Award from the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section. This award is in recognition of Professor Jones’ significant contribution to promoting public understanding of criminal justice, justice and fairness in the criminal justice system.  

Together with her colleague Belinda Dantley, assistant dean of diversity, equity and inclusion at St. Louis University School of Law, Dean Taylor surveyed 82 law school DEI professionals in early 2021 about their work, training and perceptions of their role within their institution. Their new report, “The Bottom Line: Law schools need to get serious about the work of diversity, equity and inclusion,” summarizes the survey findings and makes recommendations for law schools to embrace and advance DEI efforts.

For students and alumni who are active duty, retired military, or veterans, ‘what matters’ might mean protecting the nation.
