American University Washington College of Law is pleased to host the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) for two cutting-edge trainings this spring, “Writing Persuasive Briefs” held March 12-13 and “Persuasive Power in the Courtoom” held April 2-3.

Students Ronny Valdes '15 and Luke Karamyalil '15 were named winners of the 2015 D.C. Cup Moot Court Competition. The team also won "Best Brief."

AUWCL team of 2Ls Makia Weaver and Aspen Smith won the Howard University Law School Bryant Moore Civil Rights Moot Court Competition.

Eight AUWCL students and staff joined others from area law schools for an afternoon of volunteering at the Capital Area Food Bank. 

Dean Claudio Grossman and the AUWCL community held a reception honoring  the accomplishments of Professor Perry Wallace and the recent publication of his memoir by author Andrew Maraniss.
