Juan Mendez Appointed to Advisory Board for UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty
Professor Juan Mendez has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board for the United Nations Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty. The study has been commissioned to the Secretary General by the UN General Assembly with Professor Manfred Nowak, of the University of Vienna to lead the research and survey effort.

On Wednesday, Nov. 9, Professor and Associate Dean for Experiential Education Robert Dinerstein received an award from the Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities, Inc. (QT), “in appreciation [of his] leadership, guidance and commitment to Quality Trust’s Board of Directors and people with disabilities in the District of Columbia for 15 years.”

Professor Robbins Elected to Abolish Private Prisons Board of Directors
In recognition of his scholarship and testimony opposing private prisons since their inception, Professor Ira Robbins was elected to the Board of Directors of Abolish Private Prisons. The aim of the organization is to eliminate private prisons in the U.S. by challenging their constitutionality. Robbins was also named legal consultant to the organization's litigation team.
