Mock Trial Team Places Second in "Tournament of Champions"
The AUWCL mock trial team won Second Place at The Summit Cup Mock Trial Competition hosted by University of Denver Sturm College of Law in Denver, Colorado the last weekend of September. The competition is an invitation only tournament of champions.

The Center on International Commercial Arbitration is hosting an outstanding series of events this fall, starting with the 12th Annual International Commercial Arbitration Lecture Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, 5:30 p.m. at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP. The 2017 Annual Lecture will be presented by Pierre Mayer, emeritus professor at the University of Paris I and international arbitrator. The lecture is sponsored by Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP.

From Active Duty to Law Enforcement to Law School – A 2L Shares his Unique Journey
Pernell Jackson, currently in his second year at AUWCL, didn’t plan to go to law school. Following a five-year stint in the armed services, he decided to pursue law enforcement and joined the Prince Georges County police department. “As a police officer I felt I was helping victims pick up the pieces from a crime,” he said. “But I could see that as a prosecutor, I could seek justice on their behalf by focusing on the criminal. That’s when I decided to pursue law.”
