The American University Washington College of Law Trial Advocacy Program, ranked 4th in the nation, is gearing up for a busy spring semester of events and competitions, for both AUWCL students and teams from schools around the country.

American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) congratulates Professor Stephen Wermiel, who is being honored by the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice with the 2018 Robert F. Drinan Award for Distinguished Service.

AUWCL held its first Business Basics Bootcamp, Jan. 4-5, 2018. The 14 hour bootcamp, led by AUWCL Professor Ben Leff and featuring distinguished guest instructors, was designed to introduce AUWCL students to business concepts.

Professor Diane Orentlicher, an expert on international criminal law and international human rights law, participated in a briefing at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington Dec. 12 about the closing of International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). The briefing was sponsored by the Helsinki Commission and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission (TLHRC).

On a lively Tuesday afternoon this fall semester, American University law and business students and faculty had the privilege of hearing David M. Rubenstein speak at an event sponsored by the JD-MBA Club and the Business Law Program.
