Alumna Alejandra Aramayo Selected as 2018 Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow
American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) alumna Alejandra Aramayo ’16 has been named to the 2018 class of Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) Fellows. The program is the country’s first fellowship dedicated to meeting the need for high quality legal assistance for immigrants seeking citizenship and fighting deportation.

AUWCL Honors Black History Month with a Conversation with Wade Henderson and Nicole Austin Hillery
On Monday, Feb. 19, the law school honored Black History Month by holding a conversation with Wade Henderson, former president of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and Nicole Austin Hillery, former director and counsel of the Brennan Center for Justice in Washington, D.C., entitled, “The Long Road.” The event, in partnership with the American University Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholars Program, brought together faculty, staff, and students for a conversation about inequality and its impact on our nation and the globe.

AUWCL Welcomes the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization's 21st Advisory Committee Meeting
American University Washington College of Law is hosting the 21st Meeting of the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization’s (ITSO) Advisory Committee Feb. 8-9, 2018. Comprised of 23 of the 149 Parties to the ITSO Agreement, the Advisory Committee convenes between ITSO’s Assembly of Parties and gives advice and feedback to the Director General of ITSO between Assembly of Parties. Government officials, including ministers, ambassadors, and regulators are in attendance and AUWCL students are providing support during the meeting.
