A Conversation With Wellesley Parker'12: Pursuing A Career in International Trade

Wellesley Parker became the Export Compliance Manager at Amazon in August of 2017. Parker has more than seven years of experience working in international trade law in various settings. Before joining Amazon, Parker worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Senior Associate in the Export Controls and Trade Sanctions Practice. Parker has also worked for the United States Department of Commerce, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and DLA Piper in the Litigation and Regulatory Group. Wellesley Parker holds a BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University (2007), an MS in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2009), and a JD from American University Washington College of Law (2012).

The Annual Wenger Lecture on Trade “The Great Paradox: Economic Nationalism in an Interdependent Age" by Rufus Yerxa will follow immediately the conversation with Parker, in the same room NT01, at 5:30 pm

Criminal Law Externship Fair

The Externship Program is hosting a Criminal Law Externship Fair on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. The Fair provides employers an opportunity to meet with students who have relevant coursework and work experience in the area and allows students to meet with attorneys working specifically in the areas in which they want to practice. This is a seated event, offering a relaxed setting for meaningful conversations with employers to learn about their work and find out about available internships and externships.
