Africa Legal Conference 2018
You are cordially invited to the third annual Africa Legal Conference. The goal of the conference is to foster discussion and a better understanding of Africa and the Law through an analysis of several topics. This year we will focus on environmental justice, business, and development in urban areas. Specifically, our panels will cover: 1) A Shift in Constitutional Frameworks in Environmental Law, Business, and Development in Africa; 2) Advancements in Environmental Justice & Development in Urban Areas, and 3) Legal Approaches to Business and Social Responsibility.
We will have a conversation on the transformations of political regimes in light of current events in Zimbabwe, Kenya, The Gambia, and South Africa. Additionally, we plan to honor practitioners, who have made a positive impact in Africa using the law. Attendees of both events include legal and business practitioners, law students, and members of the local community including international embassies. A keynote speech will be made by The Hon. Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga, the former Chief Justice of Kenya. Panelists include Nneoma Nwogu, Senior Counsel to the World Bank; Osai Ojigho, Director of Amnesty International Nigeria; Chude Jidenowo, a lawyer, author, and media entrepreneur listed on Forbes' 30 under 30 Entrepreneurs in Africa and many more.
We look forward to hosting you on April 6. See you soon.
