Unveiling the Documentary History of the WIPO Broadcast Treaty Negotiations

To shed light on the evolution of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Broadcast Treaty negotiations, the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property (PIJIP) Geneva Center research team has compiled a Documentary History of the Broadcast Treaty in the SCCR.

This comprehensive resource traces discussions, statements, and proposals made by Member States across all Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) and General Assembly meetings, spanning from the Committee’s launch in 1998 to its 45th meeting in 2024.

Designed as a searchable and indexed reference, this history enables users to explore the positions of countries, track key developments, and gain deeper insights into the treaty’s negotiation process.
