Director Sean Flynn presented preliminary results of PIJIP's work mapping copyright research rights to a recent WIPO seminar. The work shows that researchers can make and use a TDM database including copyrighted materials for a non-commercial project in most countries, depending on the interpretation of private reproduction rights. But in a few countries there are clear limits, for example because exceptions are limited only to “excerpts” or “quotations” of works.
