On April 22, the American University International Law Review will host its 2022 public symposium. This year's symposium is organized around a core question: How should international copyright law protect rights to produce and access research materials?

The symposium will feature a keynote address on The Fundamental Rights Foundations of the Right to Research and their Implications for Copyright Law in the EU by Prof. Christophe Geiger  and Bernd Justin Jütte.  The keynote will be followed by panels on the right to research in human rights law and international law, and a roundtable discussion.

The symposium will take place within the two-day 2022 Annual Meeting of the Global Expert Network on Copyright User Rights is cosponsored by PIJIP, the American University International Law Review, the University of Amsterdam Institute for Information Law, and the Arcadia Project on the Right to Research in International Copyright
