PIJIP Senior Research Analyst Andrés Izquierdo has written a report on the  World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) negotiations on on limitations and exceptions, and the African Group Work Plan Proposal. 

On March 6, 2023, PIJIP, Knowledge Ecology International and the Access to Knowledge Coalition recently hosted a technical briefing on the legal and policy issues at stake in the 43rd meeting of the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights.

PIJIP has published a Working Paper by University of Amsterdam Professor P. Bernt Hugenholtz. It provides an overview of the debate over broadcaster rights that led to the treaty negotiations, describes justifications for the creation of a new intellectual property right for broadcasters, and it describes each provision in the text.

Last week, PIJIP hosted events on two key intellectual property cases argued before the Supreme Court. Videos of the both events are now available on our YouTube channel.

A new paper by PIJIP Post Doctoral Fellow Michael Palmedo has been published in the Journal of Globalization and Development.
