On April 12th, Professor Farley will be on a panel at AIPPI 10th Annual International Conference discussing best ways to protect trademarks in the cannabis industry under current U.S. law.

On March 16, 2021, INSEAD, one of the world's leading and largest graduate business schools, announced its appointment of Washington College of Law Alum Nabila Aguele to its Board of Directors.

Keren Yang, an LLM student in IP, has been selected as a Graduate Fellow of the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area in 2021. Keren participates in academic sessions that explore global challenges faced by the UN and its member states by engaging in vibrant discussions with distinguished scholars, high-ranking government officials, and senior professionals from international organizations.

The Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property joined a group of 26 civil society organizers in drafting a statement to the World Trade Organization (WTO) that highlights the need to overcome copyright barriers to ensure an equitable response to COVID-19. It is open for endorsements from both organizations and from individuals until March 18.

On March 5, 2021, Professor Michael Carroll presented at the 7th International Conference on Technology & Communication Law: “Who Governs the Internet?”.  Professor Carroll’s presentation traced the history of the open access movement

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Diane Peters as a Senior Policy Fellow of the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property (PIJIP). Diane’s work with PIJIP will include developing and representing projects that promote tailoring intellectual property policies to promote access to innovation, research, education and health.
