The paper  classifies countries based on the degree to which they have a research exception in their law that is sufficiently open to be able to permit reproduction and communications of copyrighted work needed for academic  text and data mining research. 

The paper, by Desmond Oriakhogba and Dick Kawooya, analyzes collective management of copyright in all of the African Union Member States. It finds that most countries do not follow the best practices for RROs outlined by the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Professor Sean Flynn will moderate the ABILA Committee on International Intellectual Property Law's 2022 panel discussion on “100 Years of International Intellectual Property Law.”

The chapter has been published in IFLA's new open access book, Navigating Copyright for Libraries.

The Constitutional Court of South Africa has issued an order in a case brought by Blind South Africa against the Parliament. The order finds provisions of the Copyright Act to be unconstitutional due to "infringement of the rights of persons with persons with visual and print disabilities."

Most recently, Siddiqui was an Attorney Advisor in the Intellectual Property Enforcement Branch at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, where her practice focused on anti-counterfeiting.
