Professor Robert K. Goldman, President of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) and Co-Chair of the Academy on International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, gave the opening speech of the ICJ's 18th World Congress that took place on March 23 and 24 in Tunis, Tunisia. In his speech, Professor Goldman highlighted the importance of responding to current global challenges to human rights posed by authoritarian, nationalistic and xenophobic policies, and discussed how the ICJ is uniquely suited to meet these challenges.
