GQUAL Appears before the UN Working Group on the Issue of Discrimination against Women in Law and Practice
On July 25 2018, Professor Claudia Martin and CEJIL’s Executive Director Viviana Krsticevic appeared before the UN Working Group on the issue of Discrimination against Women in Law and Practice at UN Headquarters in NY to present on the GQUAL Campaign and explore avenues of cooperation. The WGDAW is a UN Special Procedure created by the Human Rights Council with an ample mandate to promote women’s right to substantive equality and against discrimination. The WGDAW has published several thematic reports, including one on political and public participation GQUAL is looking forward to get involved in a long-term cooperation with WGDAW!
