August 30 marks the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances. In light of that date, the Academy would like to recognize Professor Maria Clara Galvis, Vice-Chair of the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances (CED). In the latest episode of our “Human Rights Voices” podcast, Professor Galvis discusses Committee actions and the role of the State in response to families and victims of enforced disappearances, challenges the Committee has faced, and advances that have taken place in the Inter-American System over the past 30 years with regard to enforced disappearances.

The podcast (in Spanish) is available HERE.
