Paulo Abrao

Paulo Abrao is a Doctor of Law, a law professor in Brazil and Spain, and Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Previously, he was Executive Secretary of the Institute of Public Policies of Human Rights of MERCOSUR and President of the Amnesty Commission of Brazil, responsible for reparations policies for the victims of the dictatorship. He was also Secretary of Justice of Brazil, President of the National Committee for Refugees, and the National Committee against Trafficking in Persons. He has professional experience in public policy management, as well as financial and budgetary administration. He has worked in academic, non-governmental, governmental, and international areas. He also has experience in fundraising and management of international cooperation projects in association with international organizations.
