  • For alumni who are within twelve months of graduation, please contact the Office of Career & Professional Development for career counseling at careerdevelopment@wcl.american.edu.
  • For alumni who are thirteen months beyond graduation seeking career advice, the Office of Advancement can connect you with other alumni/faculty who might be a beneficial resource for your professional development or employed by firms/organizations where you have an interest. We offer an initial 30 minute Zoom call to discuss how we can support you in your job search/ career transition. To request these career connections, please email Senior Alumni Relations Director Brooke Sandoval at sandoval@wcl.american.edu and include the following: 

- Your full name (and name while a student if different)
- WCL graduating class year (ie, Class of 2022)
- A brief overview of the type of career support you are seeking (include any geographic or practice area preferences).
- Include 2-3 thirty minute time frames when you would be available in the next work week for a Zoom call. Please note your timezone if it's not Eastern Time. Appointment times are typically betweeen 9:30 am- 5pm (ET), but some evening appointments could be scheduled depending on your timezone requirements.

External Professional/Executive Coaches

In addition to the career resources offered to alumni by the Office of Advancement, listed below are several professional coaches with connections to the Washington College of Law. Most offer a complimentary discovery call. While they are listed as a resource, it is up to individuals to decide whether to engage their services. Please note that any payments for their counseling services are the responsibility of the individual and are not covered by the Washington College of Law.

Job Jumpstart Workshop (March 13, 2025)  Hosted by the AUWCL Alumni Association and Office of Advancement to support our job-seeking alumni. AUWCL alumna Marianne Merritt Talbot ’93 presented a webinar packed with tools, techniques, and strategies for lawyers looking for new opportunities. Marianne is a career development expert with 30+ years of expertise as a lawyer, entrepreneur, coach, and business development expert. She’s also the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer of Bailey & Glasser, LLP and is the founder of Lawyer BFF (lawyerbff.com), a success platform for lawyers.
