Special Events

In addition to working with student competition teams and administering courses, the Advocacy Program hosts a variety of special events and programs throughout the year. These programs include competitions, networking events, and trainings for WCL students, as well as students, legal practitioners, and advocacy program coaches and administrators from around the country and the world.

WCL was honored to host the National Board of Trial Advocacy Tournament of Champions in Fall 2019 at the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse. Semifinal and final rounds were held on campus.
Advocacy program coaches from around the country come together to discuss coaching and competition hosting best practices at the National Coaches & Competitions Clinic.
Members of the Marine Corps JAG participate in a trial advocacy training and competition.
Judges and practicing attorneys from throughout Latin America attend the Diplomado en Litigacion Oral Penal, a 2 week seminar on the adversarial model taught in Spanish.
The Stephen S. Weinstein lecture brought our named benefactor back to campus, where he met with students, alumni, and members of the WCL community.
Students from around the country travel to WCL to compete in the Capitol City Challenge, a mock trial competition that includes a scored technology component.
