American University Washington College of Law hosted a reception in January for alumni recently elected to public office—including U.S. Representatives Gwen Graham ’88 and Stacey Plaskett ’94. The reception also recognized alumni elected officials from Maryland, Virginia, and D.C.

Faculty are participating in the 2014 Annual Conference of the Southeastern Association of Law Schools, which features panel discussions and workshops on many legal topics. AUWCL faculty and administrators serving as presenters and/or officers include: Llezlie Green Coleman, Jennifer Daskal, Lia Epperson, David Jaffe, Theresa Kaiser, Billie Jo Kaufman, Jeffrey Lubbers, Jayesh Rathod, Susana SaCouto, Brenda Smith, Shana Tabak, Stephen Vladeck, Stephen Wermiel, and Lindsay Wiley. by Franki Fitterer August 28, 2016 Amy Tenney, former associate director of the Program on Law & Government and adjunct professor of law at American University Washington College of Law, has been named the law school’s new assistant dean for academic services and registrar, effective Sept. 1, 2016. Tenney's responsibilities will include helping to set and refine the law school's curriculum, leading the Office of the Registrar, and working to provide students an unparalleled academic experience.

Legal scholars and professionals from around the world arrived in Washington, D.C. in August to participate in the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program coordinated by the International Legal Studies Program at American University Washington College of Law.
